2. Strictly Necessary Cookies

Waystead uses strictly necessary cookies to authenticate users, maintain secure sessions, prevent abuse, and provide Account features requested by the user. The current primary cookie is:

• better-auth.session_token or __Secure-better-auth.session_token — identifies an authenticated session; set after sign-in and retained until the session expires or you sign out

3. Analytics and Advertising Cookies

Waystead does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or session-recording technologies. If Waystead introduces a non-essential cookie or similar technology, it will update this policy and obtain consent before setting it where required by law. Rejecting a non-essential technology will be as accessible as accepting it.

4. Browser Extension Storage

The Waystead extension uses the Browser's extension storage to keep information needed to connect and synchronize a Browser, including a revocable device credential, device and Account references, bookmark identifier mappings, synchronization state, and a verified local bookmark backup. This storage is limited to the extension and is not used for advertising.

Removing the extension normally removes extension-managed local storage according to the Browser's behavior. Disconnecting a Browser revokes its server access but does not remove bookmarks stored in that Browser.

5. Your Controls

You can sign out to end the current Account session and can use Browser settings to inspect, block, or delete cookies. Blocking a strictly necessary authentication cookie may prevent sign-in or Account features from working. You can remove extension storage by using available extension controls or uninstalling the extension, subject to the Browser's own behavior.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when technologies, providers, or legal requirements change. We will revise the Last updated date and provide any additional notice or consent control required by law.
